James Douglas Swenson II (Clay County Correctional Facility)
MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A murder in Moorhead Thursday night. Police say 25-year-old Douglas James Swenson II, of Moorhead, is in the Clay County Jail pending formal charges in the killing.
Officers were dispatched to an apartment in the 3300 block of 12th St. S for a call of a possible disturbance. Police were met at the door by a man, later identified as Swenson. During questioning in the hallway, he became uncooperative and was tased by officers and taken into custody.
Once police entered the apartment, they located the victim. Moorhead police with the assistance of the Minnesota Bureau of Apprehension is working on the investigation.
The victim’s body was transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.
Police say this is believed to be an isolated incident. There is no known threat to the public, and police don’t believe there are other suspects.
